Description: Damien Francois, author and climber from Belgium, holds a doctorate in philosophy and a M.A. in philology. His previous books include Cocteau et Radiguet (1992, Bonn), Immediate (2000, Bern) and The Self-Destruction of the West (2007, Paris). He has also authored many papers and articles, a.o. in the French journal, Religions et Histoire. Dr. Francois is currently working on a book on the infamous Everest Spring season 2014 (to be published in the Spring of 2015), and is the editor of Shiva, God of the Gods (to be published by Vajra Books in 2016). In 2015, he will also publish a pamphlet on what makes humans human, The Humanimal (also published by Vajra Books). Dr. Francois is also currently translating into German the book by his friend, Nikos Salingaros: Unified Architectural Theory (published for the Asian market by Vajra Books in 2013). Before trekking and climbing in Nepal, Damien Francois used to backpack extensively in the U.S.A. and Canada (1994-2004). From 2005 on, he has been trekking and climbing in Nepal. His 11 Himalayan expeditions have led him to, a.o. Mount Everest, Manaslu, Ama Dablam, and Ganesh I.
